Sean has over 20 years of experience in the life science and medical device industries. Prior to his legal career, Sean was a research scientist developing biological products for use in the animal health industry. During and following law school, Sean drafted and prosecuted patent applications for various life science and medical device companies. In 2002, Sean joined Cameron Health as one of the company’s first employees. At Cameron Health, Sean developed and executed an intellectual property strategy for obtaining and leveraging global patent protection and avoiding intellectual property risks for a novel subcutaneous only implantable defibrillator. Sean further provided counsel through all stages of Cameron Health’s growth, including venture capital financings, clinical and regulatory matters, and the company’s acquisition by Boston Scientific in 2012.
Sean earned his BSc degree in Microbiology from The Ohio State University, his BSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota (Institute of Technology) and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. Outside of AtaCor, Sean devotes most of his attention to his young family. Sean is particularly happy when cooking for his family and friends, watching his children’s activities, and golfing with his buddies.
